Yay! Your fitting is in the diary and I'm really looking forward to seeing you. 

 

I want to make the fittings a relaxed and enjoyable experience so here's some information about how it all works.  I'll be honest, it's not the most exciting read, but it's really important that you understand my terms of service so please stick with it...

 

 

Unfortunately I need to start with this... Cancellations

  • Please, please, please let me know asap if you'd like to cancel your alterations.  Sadly I do have no-shows which unfortunately costs me money. I often turn down work and have a waiting list of clients so if your plans change (which is completely fine btw), just drop me a message asap so I can offer your appointment to someone else or cancel my childcare. 

  • Any missed or cancelled fittings will be charged at £10 unless cancelled up to 24 hours prior to the appointment.

  • Should you decide to cancel the project or change the brief prior to the final fitting so it is not possible to complete the work within the agreed quote or deadline, you will be liable to pay the full amount of the quote plus any materials purchased for the project.

 

  

Okay, so now that's out of the way let's talk about Your Fittings...

  • Please bring your chosen underwear to all of the fittings. The underwear is essential as the bodice will be fitted around it and different underwear may change the fit.  It is likewise very important that the correct shoes and underskirt/hoop (if being worn) are worn if the dress needs to be hemmed.  I cannot accept responsibility for change of underwear, shoes and underskirt/hoop.

  • During the first appointment, the overall fit is looked at and solutions found. I will offer suggestions and help you decide on the necessary alterations and embellishments to create the perfect fit, however, I cannot be held responsible for change of mind and change of body shape.  I also cannot be held responsible for the original construction of the dress which may affect the outcome of the alteration. 

  • First fittings usually last 30-60 minutes but can vary depending on the dress. I will advise at the first meeting how many fittings are needed and these will be included in your quote but additional fittings, requested by yourself, will be an extra cost. 

  • I will be able to price the alterations at the first meeting and this quote covers the agreed work only.  Any further work which arises or is requested at subsequent fittings will be subject to additional costs.

  • At the final fitting, all the alterations will have been made. We will double check that the dress fits you perfectly so you will be at your best on the special day and you will be required to sign a form stating that you are happy with your dress. Additional charges will apply should any further work be required after this form has been signed.

  • I am happy to alter garments which have been fitted (pinned) by someone else, however, I cannot be held responsible for the fit once adjusted.

Payment

  • I take a 50% deposit for balances of £50+ which is payable by cash or card at your first fitting.  This deposit will be deducted from the final balance. 

  • I will send you an invoice for the total cost of the alterations before your final fitting. Payment of the remaining balance is accepted by bank transfer prior to your appointment or by cash or card at the final fitting.

  • Any travel costs should be paid at each fitting.

  • All payments are final and refunds are not offered.

Home Visits

  • Please provide a full address and any information which may be helpful regarding finding the property and parking.

  • Please also provide a contact telephone number.

  • The fitting should ideally take place in a room which allows me to move around yourself and the dress. A full length mirror can be helpful but is not essential.

  • Home visits are charged per visit to the agreed address only and this cost is quoted prior to booking.

Covid-19 Guidelines:  

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with any person showing symptoms no matter how mild please reschedule your appointment. Symptoms are;

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back

  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

Please arrive on time, no earlier or later than your appointment is scheduled. This is because I need to ensure there is enough time to clean the fitting room between appointments.  When you arrive please call me on 07527 197841 and I'll come out to meet you.  Fittings take place in a room with direct access to the garden so you will not need to enter any other part of the house. On arrival you will be required to sanitize your hands. Please bring your own mask to wear during your fitting.  As I have to work in such close proximity to my clients, I will wear a face mask and a visor and, when possible, will keep a safe social distance.
